RE: Branch office Notes access ~Umberto Nongeroson 9.Jan.04 07:46 AM a Web browser General All Releases; 6.5All Platforms
We have this situation :
- Main office connected with 1Mbit SDSL - fixed ip's
- Branch office connected with cable (4Mbit down - 256Kbit up) - dynamic ip
- There are about 8 people working remotely (but most of the time there are no more then 4 connected at the same time)
- Most applications work at a descent speed (as long as there are no large attachments involved), when they're accessed directly on the server. The 'havier' application are replicated to the local hard disk. Replication is very efficient in ND6.
- We have also 2 home workers with an ADSL-connection (3Mbit down - 128Kbit up), with the same experiences as for the branch office.
- Notes/Domino connections are quite secure (when using firewalls on both sides), but you should consider to use VPN, if security is an important issue for your company.
